About
Parry...
 |
Hi! My name
is Parry Aftab.
I'm an international
corporate lawyer and specialize in Internet law. I'm also
a mother of two. I became involved in family online safety
a few years ago, and wrote
A Parents' Guide to the Internet and the soon to be
released book, The Parent's Guide to Protecting Children in
Cyberspace (McGraw-Hill, January 2000).
I have been
appointed by UNESCO to head up its online safety and children
on the Internet project for North America. To learn more about
the international effort drop by our Innocence in Danger page,
or visit UNESCO's site. The North American program is called
Wired Kids. The wiredkids.org site will launch in this Fall,
1999.
|
| I am also honored to serve
as the Executive Director of WiredSafety, the world's largest
online safety and education program |
To learn more about me, feel free to drop by my
bio page, Parry's Thoughts, and

We set up and
designed this site to be the one place where everyone who cares
about family online safety and quality Internet family content
can pick up ideas and share resources, information and have a
place to brag a little about successes....We coded it too, so
you can blame us when things don't work <g> (for those of
you who don't know what "<g>" means, check out
our Understanding the Web Basics page...)
|
 |
We will have FAQs (frequently
asked questions), tips for experienced web-surfers and newbies alike,
website reviews written by our visitors, my "picks," resources,
safety tips, teaching plans and training programs, interviews with cybercelebrities,
information on leading child advocacy groups and child safety initiatives
and online tours...and anything else we can dream up...Every few days
we'll update sections of the site, and will share thoughts, ideas and
announcements in Parry's Thoughts.
If you have questions, you can
ask Parry, at our new Ask
Parry page, where she will answer select questions publically. She
answers all questions sent to her privately. Drop her an e-mail.
Whew!
We can't do this alone, though...we need your help!
Got some ideas about what we should
add to the site?
We're listening...
