Today's parents face tougher parenting issues than they ever did before... Although each generation of parents felt the same way. I remember when my mother thought that television would warp my brain. (Perhaps that explains things...<g> ) Her mother thought that radio would warp her brain. (That too explains things...sorry mom, just kidding <g> )

If you want to know what <g> means, check out the new online page. (For those of you know don't want to know more than you have too, it means "grin" or that I'm kidding...)

Okay...Parents come in all sizes, colors, genders and technical abilities. Luckily, the Internet has resources for all of us. I am a single-parent of two college-kids. I was also a stepmother, a step-daughter, a half-sister, and step-sister...And I am fairly typical for this generation of parents.

Most of us are clueless when it comes to cyberspace...but that's okay, since the world wide web is only 5 years old. We have plenty of time to catch up. (In the meantime we need to learn to bluff pretty well so our kids don't know how clueless we are<g> )

Some parents need special help...they need advice on finding adoption resources, step-parenting resources, foster-parenting resources...they need help dealing with special issues, like divorce, seriously-ill children, children with special needs (like wheel-chair bound children, deaf children and children with serious learning disabilities).

I've searched out several sites which I think are good and reliable resources for families with special needs. The Internet is a terrific place to find a community of like-minded families. You're never alone online. It's open 24/7 (my kids' slang for 24 hours a day and seven days a week).

It's every library in the world located at your desktop. I'll try to help you find your way around this terrific place, and hope you will share your favorite places with us. I'll also be setting up a chat area just for parents to share their thoughts.

This is YOUR page, and I hope you'll help me build it.

This is what we've got planned for you. Tell me if there is anything else you want to see here...I personally answer all e-mail
